Photogravure Quality Plates from Polymer
We offer the best service and pricing on custom plates for photogravure available, and have for over 20 years! Add multiple images to a large plate and SAVE (cutting fees apply). Our plates are generally good for 50-100 prints when treated with care, according to our instructions. Digital Artwork must be sized, histogram-balanced, in Photoshop or TIF, and ready to print. Extra digital editing fees may apply for unprepared images. For large editions, subsequent plates of the same image may be purchased at a discount. Setup Fee includes Shipping, Handling, and Insurance.
Price for service includes a materials fee of $21.86 covering the cost of the plate and film transparency. $25 setup fee covers shipping and handling within the continental US. Shipping outside the USA will result in higher shipping and VAT fees, TBD after purchase.

This 100-step test plate was designed to help you calibrate your ink and initial pressure before printing your Intaglio Editions plates, made exclusively on steel-backed Toyobo KM83 polymer plates! Our Tonal Profile should allow you to print to close to 90/100 steps, on average, with clean separation. Use Charbonelle Carbon Black as a baseline black for optimal tonal range and results.
Once you can print our Step Tests cleanly, you will be able to verify the full, smooth grayscale spectrum available to your work when you print with Intaglio Editions plates.
